The below rules and regulations form part of the Cemeteries & Crematoria Act 2003, the Cemeteries & Crematoria Regulations 2015 and policies and procedures pertaining to the Arthurs Creek Cemetery.
- Please note that ANY PLOT purchased in the Memorial Sections of A, C, D and F do require construction of a full monument, i.e. headstone and surround constructed by a recognised and registered stonemason.
- All cemetery fees are adjusted annually by the CPI and other Increases and approved by the Department of Health, Cemeteries & Crematoria Department, and gazetted on their website.
- All Grave Sites are dug for 2 Interments unless a 3rd Interment is required & pre-paid, prior to an Interment in that Grave Plot Location. All Graves purchased are in Perpetuity.
- The Cemetery has strict height limits: Monumental Section 1.2 metres taken from centre of grave. This includes any cross or other symbol/marker that is on top of the grave. The Lawn Section limit is 1 metre.
- ALL monumental work has to be completed by a registered and accredited stonemason.
- No glass or ceramic vases/bottles/jars are permitted within the cemetery grounds due to OH&S concerns. From time to time we will inspect the whole of the grounds and remove any glass or ceramic items. These will be placed in a box next to the top rotunda for collection.
- Once a memorial is constructed in situ it is then the responsibility of the holder for the Right of Internment to maintain and keep it in a neat and tidy manner. Any vegetation that is planted within the memorial is to be maintained in such a way that it does not grow outside of the monument borders.
- Arthurs Creek Cemetery is on a hill and therefore the surfaces are uneven. Tree roots, animal diggings and the like are a normal part of the ‘country atmosphere’ that the cemetery operates within. Please take care when walking around the cemetery and if mobility is an issue and access is required contact the Secretary who will arrange for the gates to be opened.
- In order to properly respect the natural bush setting within the ashes area, we request that no toppings other than bush mulch be used within the Garden of Peace and Garden of Peace Extension. The bush mulch will be provided and spread by Cemetery personnel when required. Toppings other than bush mulch will need to be removed. These toppings include and are not limited to: coloured bark mulch, stones, pebbles, rocks, marbles or any other item covering the surface.
- It is requested that a maximum of 2-3 ornaments/vases/keepsakes be allowed per memorial rock. Any items in excess will be removed and placed in a container at the back of the 1st brick shed for collection.
- At no time is it acceptable to leave an exposed flame within the cemetery grounds, even if the flame is contained within a candle box. We are, at different times of the year, in a high risk fire prone area. Large fines could be incurred for those who ignore this rule.
- No alcohol is permitted within the cemetery grounds.
- Please respect and appreciate this quiet country cemetery.
Please note
- All items need to be kept to the place of interment and not extend to other graves or pathways. The Right of Interment is for the grave or memorial site, not for the areas or pathways surrounding the site or place of interment.
- Lawn areas need to be clear of all items.
